What makes the Best Ice?

My recipe

Postby disneygirl71 » Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:00 pm

I have been chewing ice for 3 or 4 years. I experimented with different types of ice in the beginning. Now, I freeze bottled drinking water. It needs to be about two thirds full. When I pull a bottle from the freezer, I run it under warm water until it melts just a bit. Then, I break the bottle of ice up until it is the consistency of a snowcone. How do I accomplish this? Why, with a glass lid from a Yankee candle!! I have lids all over the house and in the car. I call them "ice bangers"..frozen water bottles are easily transportable in an insulated lunch box.

I'll have to try the ice bangers. I freeze these bottles as well @ work, then slam them several times against the concrete wall or floor. Just like snow! :)

I was just gonna say, you should probably read pammy's story about the blood clots she got from chewing ice out of plastic water bottles. That's really scary! They say those plastic water bottles are pretty bad and if the water freezes it can really mess you up. At my job we just got an ice machine that makes like 200 pounds of ice per day and it's awesome! That's probably the best, safest way to go about chewing your ice... especially if you can get that Sonic-like, nugget ice. We didn't but still, we got tons of ice for our small company so my water is always cold, and i can make iced coffees whenever i want. Not to mention being able to chew away all day if I feel the need! This is the exact ice machine we got - http://www.icemachinesplus.com/manitowo ... 24a.html... I cant figure out how to upload a picture of the ice but its smaller and clear. Still good for chewing!
