ice chewing may be related to blood but not how you think

Hi, I am new to this site...I had a massive stroke in 1/2004. I have since recovered, but came out of the hospital w/a craving to chew ice, and a craving for the smell of PineSol. Here's the kicker: My stroke was caused by a disorder I did not know I had. Polycythemia Vera...too many red cells, too many platelets. Created a clot and hence the stroke. So, the theory of anemaia=ice chewing doesn't equate for me. Any thoughts? [/b]

The Pine Sol smell

This is real weird because i too like the smell of PineSol or bleach. I will spray either or, smoke a cigarette, then eat a 44 oz cup of ice. Something about that smell. My family thinks I am crazy.
